SolidWorks Plastics

In the first step of product development, the cost of some changes on product is not so high as much as in next steps but, the effects are higher in product development cycle. Plastic parts and injection molds should be optimized for productivity as soon as possible before manufacturing. Major difficulties of plastic part manufacturing are determining the behaviours of parts and mold designs to manufacturing process and also, the effect of manufacturing process should be considered during the design of parts and molds are developed.

Engineers, who design plastics injection parts or molds, can predict defects of geometry and, prevent the reproduction cost of design and mold with SolidWorks Plastics software.

With SolidWorks Plastics software, fill time, weld lines, runner systems, cooling time, distortion, warpage, required mold closing force, injection pressure of mold and other engineering problems would be tested. Injection and flow of melted plastic could be visualised with 3d graphics.

Besides filling and cooling processes, cooling slots are devisable with SolidWorks Plastics software. In this case, engineers are able to analyse cooling abilities, cooling time, mold temperature and cycle time of their designs. Likewise, after all this processes, weld lines, distortion and warpage on geometry are observable in software interface.

Injection analyzes are applied on these geometries. Injection analyzes are calculated with defined injection locations instead of runner systems. Fill time, weld line, cooling time, distortion, warpage, required mold closing force and injections pressure values are aimed to work out on these analyzes.
